TRYSIL SAUNA

ICE BATH

Cold. Contrast. Mastery.

Experience the cold water in Trysil – a natural part of the sauna experience.

YOU HAVE BOOKED A UNIQUE COLD AND WARM EXPERIENCE!

The ice hole will be open and ready when you arrive. If it is very cold, a thin layer of ice can form within minutes; use the snow shovel by the ice hole to remove it.

IT IS COLD TO WALK BAREFOOT ON ICE AND SNOW!

What often feels coldest about ice bathing is the 15–20 m walk between the sauna and the ice hole. We therefore recommend swim shoes or socks. On especially cold days, a hat and/or gloves can also be helpful.

HOLD ON TO THE LADDER AND THINK SAFETY!

We check the river ice daily to ensure it is safe. A bathing ladder is installed at the ice hole and reaches all the way to the bottom. Do not let go of the ladder while bathing, and always have at least two people at the ice hole. We take safety seriously and provide a safe, refreshing and exciting experience, but all movement on the ice and bathing in the ice hole is at your own risk (do not dive under the ice).

IT IS EASIEST TO CHANGE INTO SWIMWEAR "AT HOME"!

Right outside the sauna there is an outdoor changing area with a bench, roof and hooks for hanging clothes. It is easiest to change into swimwear before you arrive and leave your outerwear at the sauna.

PARK YOUR CAR BY THE SAUNA!

The sauna is in the north-west corner of the campsite – take one of the roads to the right when you reach the red reception building. Park your car by the sauna.

PLEASE NOTE! Please note that the ice hole may be closed for safety reasons – for example, if the river ice is too thin. A closed ice hole does not entitle you to a refund for the sauna rental.
